Life Transitions
Even the changes we choose can turn our world upside down. A new job, a move, a relationship beginning or ending, a new baby or children leaving home can leave you feeling unsteady, unsure of who you are or overwhelmed by everything that is different.
Transitions often bring a mix of emotions at once: excitement and grief, relief and fear. You may be mourning the life you had while trying to build a new one, and it is common for anxiety, low mood, irritability or trouble sleeping to show up along the way.
You do not have to wait until things fall apart to ask for support. Therapy can give you a steady place to slow down, make sense of what is changing and decide who you want to be on the other side of it.

Transitions I help with
- Becoming a parent, growing your family or adjusting to life with a new baby
- Returning to work after having a baby, starting a new job, a career change or losing a job
- Moving, relocating or changes in your home and living situation
- Marriage, separation, divorce or blending families
- Exploring questions of identity and sexuality, including coming out to yourself or others
- Children growing up and leaving home
- Retirement and finding a new sense of purpose
- A new diagnosis, a change in your health or caring for an aging parent
- Grief and loss, including infertility and infant loss
How we will work together
- Making sense of the change. We will look at what you have lost, what you have gained and what matters most to you now.
- Coping with stress and uncertainty. Cognitive behavioral and mindfulness skills, plus practical tools for getting through the day to day.
- Rediscovering who you are. Exploring your identity, values, boundaries and self-care, with art therapy as an option when it helps. No art skill is needed.
- Moving forward with intention. Setting goals and small next steps so you can build a life that fits who you are becoming.
There is an ART to getting to know yourself, especially in seasons of change. I can help you through the process.
